♪Music Hey, My name is
Spencer Williams, and I’m
here at the Tee Time
Fashion Show Students majoring in Fashion
here at The University of
Alabama have created garments out
of everything from bottle
caps to paper plates. Let’s see exactly what
these garments look like and what the designers
were inspired by. I honestly had no idea
what it took to put a
garment together until I started sewing at
the University last semester. And, so, um, that definitely
gave me a whole new
respect for clothing, and, then also, just seeing
what it takes; the whole
like mood boards, and the idea process, and the
coloring, and the textiles
and all that, I mean it honestly, it’s all
very practical, and really
makes you respect what you
put on, and it makes you respect,
you know, the people who
make it. And, I think that respect I can
take into job interviews into
my future, hopefully it will get
me somewhere. Well, this particular dress
is inspired by recycled
materials. It’s made out of Publix grocery,
and spray paint. So, I just
wanted to make something
that was very earthy, but still really girlie.
And stayed true to my style. That’s it for this year’s
Tee Time Fashion Show, one of the many opportunities
for students at The
University of Alabama to demonstrate both their
imagination and
creativity. Just one more reason
The University of Alabama is
the Capstone of Higher
