Scholarships for Studying Abroad: NYU Steinhardt

Scholarship support is available to students
studying abroad through NYU Steinhardt. On the Steinhardt Global Affairs page,
visit our graduate students menu then select “scholarships.” The scholarships page on our website describes the Steinhardt study abroad scholarship, and provides an application link and
application instructions. The award ranges from five hundred to
two thousand dollars, based on need and requests a financial needs
statement, a current and resume, and copy of your FAFSA
Student Aid Report. It’s especially important to apply to
this scholarship at the same time as you apply to a study abroad program, so that we can give you
a decision on both items concurrently. Award funds do run out, so make sure
to apply as early as you can. If you scroll down, you’ll find another opportunity;
this one for full-time teachers. There is an application link and it will ask for
evidence of employment at a New York City public school or charter school. And provided, we can verify your employment; we’re able to offset a significant
portion of your housing and activity fees. Finally, there’s external funding for graduate students. These are rewards that we
don’t administer, but want to house here as a resource for students. And based on your academic level, citizenship, and destination, you may be eligible
for these external funds. And you can click on the hyperlinks
to learn more about the organizations that administer these programs. Each of the scholarships listed
in external funding have their own criteria and application deadlines. So again, it’s best to apply early
so you have sufficient time to get a decision. Remember these scholarships are in
addition to any financial aid you already receive at the University. So if you have a question about the difference
between scholarships and financial aid or just want to map out how to finance
your study abroad program, contact us to make an appointment.
We’re happy to talk to you!
