OSU Scholars Love Morrill Tower

parents and families usually want to
know what’s the most social dorm or like where do you have the most fun and
I always say the towers because you have automatically at least eight other
friends with you right away when you get here
and I don’t think it’s overwhelming because you also have multiple spaces
that you can go to where you just want to be alone
I’m gonna miss just being in the common room not only for the people that live
in my suite but other friends that live in Morrill they just come in and hang
out a part of my heart is always going to be in the towers I grew up by myself
so living in a suite with nine other girls actually did kind of scare me but
I found that it was a really easy way to make friends and I know that I’m gonna talk to them probably the rest of my college career in my suite there’s one common room right when
you walk in and then there’s a bathroom that kind of branches off with three
stalls and two showers and four sinks so there’s always plenty of space for all
of us we never feel crammed or you never have to wait for anything
and then there’s one quad and three doubles and I’m in a double but I always
find myself you know going to the common room to talk to my friends I really like
it because you can be secluded but you can also have this really good community
because you’re all living in the same suite I’d say my favorite memory from Morrill
would have to be when we all celebrated Thanksgiving together
each suite made a different food some people made pies mashed potatoes
stuffing and then we had chicken wings instead of Turkey because we couldn’t
get turkey or cheese we all like chicken wings instead and it really brought us
together I wouldn’t have chosen to live anywhere else my first year I really do
like the location of being on West Campus because I like to run and
sometimes just getting off campus on the Olentangy trail is super nice just going
in either direction and also being close to the RPAC and the fields by Lincoln
Tower are super nice I think the only people who have a bad impression of
Morrill Tower are the people who haven’t lived there the first few days I just
remember introducing myself a million times and saying where I was from and just
getting to know people but that helped a lot and so I’d encourage students to do
the same thing I think that Morrill is the best residence hall to build community
just because of the way that it’s structured
Morrill tower with its social aspect the fact that you meet so many
people so quickly and there’s so many people in the tower for you to meet even
outside of your floor a lot of the pressure to meet new people is off you
have tons of friends you go out and you see somebody odds are if you go
somewhere you’re gonna see somebody from it’s something that bonds
Ohio State alum that have graduated like 30 years ago they still come back and
they talk about their times of the towers so it’s a really lucky awesome
thing to be a part of
