♪♫ Hi my name is Reynaldo Reyes, I am an associate professor in bilingual ESL and multiple certification in the College Education at University of Texas at El Paso. As a bi-Lingual specialist from UTEP is more than just getting a degree. It’s an experience and thought, it’s a
strengthening of pedagogy it’s a study how language culture and
identity all are interconnected in how you can
use such knowledge to thoughtfully and strategically meet the unique needs of your students. ♫♪♫ I do have a Bachelor’s from UTEP and I have 2 masters. A master’s in instructional specialist and a master’s in educational administration. We took a lot of courses in bilingual education multiculturalism and global diversity. Aside from the practical benefits from being more marketable It promotes cultural awareness, cultural sensitivity, cultural tolerance, and an appreciation for other cultures that you might not have otherwise realized. It’s a bridge between
people. ♫♪♫ If you get your bachelors degree in bilingual education and go back in get your master’s degree you will have, you will be insured of a job. I highly recommend that every single
teacher who receives their degree in bilingual education go back and receive their masters also in bilingual education. If they go
to UTEP they’re gonna be taught many different strategies to use with their students. They become experts in their field and as an administrator those are the
ones that I look for. ♫♪♫ Languages are power, languages make you so rich and they open your hearts to the world. ♫♪♫ [Children speaking Spanish – Learning languages is fun]
