MarooNation St. Louis Student Scholarship

The MarooNation St. Louis Student Scholarship is awarded to Missouri State students from the St. Louis metropolitan area who embody what it means to be a Bear and exemplify the University’s mission in Public Affairs. The two students you’re about the meet both call the St. Louis area home. These young women are outstanding Missouri State students on their own paths on their way to do great things. A path changed by this event and the scholarship support gained from it. My name is Brianna Moore and I’m from St. Louis, Missouri. I’m a psychology major, criminology minor
and I’m a senior. I’m a part of the Student Government Association. I’m a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity and I’m a part of Psychology Club and Psi Chi. I plan on going to grad school for my masters. I’m not sure if it will be for clinical psychology or for counseling. I want to be a forensic psychologist. I don’t know which age group I want to work
with. Every time I receive a yes for a scholarship,
I’m still shocked. It’s like are you sure I’m the one who got
it? I think you have me confused with someone
else. It’s like I haven’t done enough to earn that. They see something in me that sometimes I
have a hard time seeing for myself and it’s truly a blessing to know that they believe
in me and that they gave me this opportunity. Hi, my name is Grace Murray from St. Peters,
Missouri. I have a double major in BFA acting and entertainment
management. And I am a sophomore. I chose to be a Bear first and foremost because
of the arts department. I absolutely love theatre, love art in every
sense of the way. And when I took a tour I looked at the theatre
department, talked to a couple of the professors and shadowed a student and I felt so included. Entertainment management is something I’m
really passionate about. I’m really interested in seeing the business
side of what goes on with events and Student Activities Council is in charge of most of
the fun events on campus. I personally am the Concerts Chair. I’m also involved in the theatre department. As a student there you’re usually involved in productions. You’re usually auditioning for films or shorts
or things of that sort. To the donors and everyone who supports this
scholarship, I want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you. I am so so grateful for this opportunity and
know that they probably hear that a lot, but I want them to know that this is going to
be a mission for me and that they should be excited and they should be proud for what
I’m going to do with this and I will not let them down. We celebrate all of you. Your commitment and your impact on current
and future Bears who follow in your footsteps.
