[MUSIC PLAYING] You might be wondering on
a website dedicated to children’s special education
rights why we’re even talking about homeschooling. Right, Julie? Well, yes. But the fact of the matter is
that we’ve come across many people over the years who come
to us and ask us whether or not they should homeschool
their child. Do we have an opinion on it? What are the pros and cons? How do I do it? Exactly. Let’s also face it. It’s a big trend in
the United States. And so you need to know
what it is, what are the risks involved. And this segment is here to give
you a broad overview of homeschooling. We are in no way, shape, or form
experts in homeschooling. But we think that if you’re
considering it, there’s some things you need to know. We’re just going to scratch
the surface on the legal issues that impact children
who have diagnosed disabilities and whether or not
there any obligations on school district when you make
the decision to homeschool. And just, as Julie says,
considerations that you should be taking into account when
you either decide to homeschool or if you’re already
doing it and you have some questions about your
child with a disability. [MUSIC PLAYING]
