and after the ’80s, but I have no reference
frame for the ’80s. – It’s already good enough
that I know ’90s music, so having to know ’80s music,
it’s like you have to be taught that. – I feel like if I get
any of these wrong, my mom will kill me
because she always listens to ’80s music. – I think ’80s is
such an iconic sound. I might not know

was a huge part of 1980s culture. It set fashion trends
as Lauper wore bright, outrageous clothes
in the music video. It helped set the stage
for artists like Madonna. So here is an example of the look. – Ooh! That’s a very spicy picture. That’s awesome. – That’s really pretty. I feel like I dress
very similar sometimes. I wear really bright things and my makeup
normally is done really bright. So that’s pretty cool.

Dolly’s long acrylic nails. When tapping them together,
she realized it sounded like a typewriter and she even played
her fingernails as percussion when she recorded the track.
